Couples
Marriage counselling and couples mediation
Both of you will be heard. Our role is to help you understand each other, not to take sides, and to agree practical steps you can keep.

Who it's for
You might come to us for
- Arguments that keep repeating, however hard you try
- Communication that has become tense, distant or silent
- Rebuilding trust after it has been broken
- Adjusting to change: a new baby, in-laws, a move, money pressures
- Engaged couples preparing for nikah
- Couples weighing up separation who want a calm, fair conversation first
What we work on
Together, we focus on
- Conflict resolution and healthier ways to disagree
- Expectations around roles, finances, family and faith at home
- Rebuilding trust and emotional connection
- Faith-centred approaches to marriage and family life
- Clear agreements you review together, session by session
How it works
What to expect
Every session ends with something practical you can do that week.
Book and share a little
Choose a time. Each of you completes a short, private intake form before the first session.
A first joint session
We hear both perspectives, agree ground rules and set out what you each want from the work.
Individual time if needed
Where it helps, each of you has a session alone. Time is kept equal and fair.
Joint sessions with agreements
We work through the issues and agree practical steps, then review them next time.
We are not a legal service and we do not issue religious rulings. Questions about divorce, khula or child arrangements should go to a qualified scholar or a solicitor. We can help you prepare for those conversations calmly.
“And if you fear dissension between the two, send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause it between them.”
Qur'an, An-Nisa 4:35 (Saheeh International)
Do we both need to attend?
Joint sessions work best when both of you take part. If your spouse is not ready yet, you can begin with individual support and we can talk about how to invite them.
Will you take sides?
No. Both of you will be heard. Our role is to help you understand each other and find a way forward you can both live with.
Is it confidential?
Yes. What you share stays within the sessions, with the limits explained in our confidentiality and safeguarding page.
Can we ask for a male or female practitioner?
Yes. Tell us your preference when you book and we will do our best to arrange it.
Do you offer pre-marital guidance?
Yes. Pre-marital sessions help you align expectations, values and practical plans before nikah. You can book them directly.
What if there is abuse in the relationship?
Joint sessions are not safe or appropriate where there is abuse. Please contact us privately, or call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247 or the Men's Advice Line on 0808 8010 327. In an emergency, call 999.
Sincere Naseeha mentoring and content offer guidance and support. They are not a substitute for professional counselling, therapy, medical care or emergency services.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent medical help call NHS 111. Samaritans are available 24/7 on 116 123.
If you are experiencing abuse or feel unsafe at home, joint sessions are not the right first step. Contact us privately, or call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247 or the Men's Advice Line on 0808 8010 327.
